Privacy Policy

Shop Local Treasure is operated by Monkey Barrels LLC (“we”, “us”), and runs at shoplocaltreasures.com and related subdomains, connecting local vendors with nearby shoppers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up or sign in — including via Google or Facebook — we receive your name and email address. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive only the basic profile information those providers share (name, email, profile photo), never your password on those services.
- Vendor and listing information. If you list items for sale, we store your shop details, item photos and descriptions, prices, and the location(s) you sell from (or that you sell online-only).
- Location data. A vendor’s street address is geocoded (converted to map coordinates) so shoppers can see distance and get directions. We do not collect a shopper’s precise device location unless they choose to share it when searching nearby.
- Usage information. We may record which items and shops are viewed, and actions like clicking “get directions” or “contact vendor”, to help vendors understand shopper interest.
How we use information
- To operate your account and, if you’re a vendor, your public storefront.
- To show shoppers relevant, nearby listings and calculate distance/directions.
- To send account-related email (verification, password reset, vendor notifications).
- To maintain the security and reliability of the platform.
We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of service providers to operate the platform:
- Google and Facebook — optional sign-in providers. Using them is subject to that provider’s own privacy policy in addition to this one.
- Geocodio — converts a vendor’s address into map coordinates.
- Resend — delivers transactional email (verification links, notifications).
- Vercel and Supabase — hosting and database infrastructure.
Cookies and sessions
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Data retention
We retain account and listing information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time using the contact below.
Your choices
- You can review and update your account information at any time while signed in.
- You can request a copy of, or the deletion of, your personal information.
- Vendors can remove individual listings or their entire shop at any time.
Children’s privacy
Shop Local Treasure is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the effective date above when we do.
